SHAPE ISLAND
In 2021, I was offered the Head Writer / Co-Executive Producer position for an Apple TV+ show called Shape Island, based on a beloved picture book trilogy created by Jon Klassen and Mac Barnett.
During my time on this production, I led the writers room in breaking and creating springboards for each episode. I assigned outlines to my (brilliant) writing team, and was the sole editor on every subsequent script draft they sent in. I worked closely with the writers, executive team, and creators to craft an elevated kids program that we all felt was sweet, smart, and funny. I conceived of and wrote several episodes, including a 22-minute Halloween special, which can be found below.
I strove very hard to lead the creative team in making a show that would reflect and respect the real emotional experience of our audience. I genuinely couldn't be prouder of the work we did on this show. I think it's an all-timer.
