In season 3 of Summer Camp Island I was promoted to Supervising Director. I worked in Adobe Premiere cutting each episode down to time. While building any given animatic, I was responsible for: board revisions, scratch vocal tracks (of which you will find plenty in the clips below), joke timing, sound effects, music cues, etc - quite simply, it was my job to mold the raw materials and make the stories work. Because some episodes came in quite long (at times I found myself cutting 20+ minutes of material down to just under 11 minutes), I learned very quickly how to make strong narrative decisions in order to keep a story functional, funny, and heartfelt.
Oscar and Ramona run an errand on the moon. They come across a very strange, lonely old rabbit with a penchant for trading disguises. This episode went through several passes before we felt we had done the Miracle Rabbit character justice.
Instead of seeking shelter with everyone, Susie decides to face her oncoming emotional tornado alone. It was such a treat working with Lucyola's boards during the section where Susie breaks down.
Oscar confronts an age-old superstition, and inadvertently passes his curse on to Hedgehog.
